Bringing Hope to Victims of the LA Fires

As of January 16, 2025, the devastating California wildfires that began on the 7th have claimed more than 20 lives, scorched nearly 57,660 acres of land, and destroyed or severely damaged over 16,000 structures.

More than 100,000 people have had to evacuate their homes, unsure of whether or not they will have somewhere to return to. Entire communities are reeling from the devastation, searching for support and a path forward.

Because of you, Feed the Children and our partners were able to respond quickly, sending additional supplies to local community partners to be distributed in some of the worst-affected areas. Almost a million pounds of food, water, and disaster relief supplies have been shipped with the anticipation to provide additional aid in the coming weeks and months to support California children and their families.

But this is only the beginning. Thanks to your support, as well as the collaborative efforts of our nonprofit and corporate partners, Feed the Children will continue to assist affected communities. Recovery and healing may be slow, but together, we can make a difference and help end hunger even in times of crisis.

Feed the Children extends a special thanks to the firefighters and first responders serving in these communities, whose heroic efforts have reduced the casualty count and the total damage.
